INSIDE NYPC

INSIDE NYPC, NYPC's newsletter, is distributed to members via regular mail (in print) and/or e-mail (in PDF format).

It focuses on upcoming meetings:

  • The monthly General Meeting, which features a presentation of general interest. Upcoming meetings will feature David Pogue, New York Times columnist, on March 20, and Katrin Eismann, Photoshop expert, on April 19.
These meetings are free and open to the public.
  • Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs), each of which deals with a specific application or computer topic. These range from get-togethers where members discuss the joys and frustrations of Palm Pilots or cell phones, to monthly forums where developers present their Perl or Java code for discussion.
  • Our classes (which are detailed on this website).

In addition, many issues of the newsletter feature articles and product reviews.

This year, 2007, is NYPC's 25th anniversary! In 1992, in honor of our 10th anniversary, the NYPC publications team, consisting of Frank Bolton, Marshall Ewig, Terry Tolvo, and other volunteers, published a 48-page (cover included) issue, filled with history and tributes.
Over the next few weeks, we will post pages from this impressive magazine, finally posting the entire issue in PDF format.
